Welcome to Midnight’s Promise Estate, a picturesque working vineyard nestled in the foothills of Mount Molly Morgan, in the enchanting Lovedale region. This area boasts a rich history dating back to the early days of New South Wales when it served as a penal colony. Molly Morgan, a renowned (some might say, infamous) convict, made a notable mark on this land, having been transported twice before settling on a land grant outside Maitland. It was here that Molly flourished, particularly following the discovery of coal on the Hunter River, then known as the Coal River. Molly managed a welcoming hostelry known as the Angel Inn, which offered respite to weary travellers. While the Angel Inn is but a memory, Molly’s legacy still remains.
 
In the early 1800s, the Hunter Valley witnessed the inception of its wine legacy when the first grapevines found their roots, marking the historic birth of the Australian wine industry. This proud tradition has continued and in 1998, Midnight’s Promise Estate was planted with the traditional Hunter Valley varieties of Semillon, Chardonnay, and Shiraz. Our dedication to crafting exceptional wines has earned us recognition from discerning wine show judges and wine writers, reinforcing our commitment to quality and heritage.
